making of Lead(II)acetate trihydrate

Hello

I would like to make Lead(II)acetate trihydrate.
I have 100% GAA and lead oxide.
As I understand I must use 50% GAA, so I will mix it with water as 50:50. But how much should I pour of that GAA mix onto my lead oxide? And what is the easier way to dry off the excessive wetness from the final product?

I also have lead hydroxide and lead acetate - I wanna turn these ones also to Lead(II)acetate trihydrate. I guess the % is different then when mixing with GAA.

Big thanks for any suggestions.

PbO + 2 CH3COOH + 2H2O > Pb(CH3COO)2.3H2O

Likewise,

Pb(OH)2 + 2 CH3COOH + H2O > Pb(CH3COO)2.3H2O

Go to a periodic table and calculate the weight ratios of these reactions. Then multiply by the weight of reactants. Then mix. Then crystallize and/or recrystallize.

Come on, gimme something harder. :P

As I'm bored,
                                 MW             Moles      Amount
PbO                         223.1994      1           223.1994
CH3COOH             60.05256      2           120.10512
H2O                         18.01528      2           36.03056
                                                                      379.33508

Pb(CH3COO)2.3H2O                                3 79.33508

The hardest thing about that was the formatting. Why does the BB strip out all the spaces.

Mike.
