Anyone want to use my lab/equipment/chemicals ?
I live near Walsall UK, WS5,
I have a small chemistry lab (ok, it's a small shed), some chemicals and equipment,
and due to my back problem I'm almost always home.
As there are many more lurkers than posters here I'm wondering;
Does anyone want to use my 'lab' - at their own risk ?
Offer open to ANY level of expertise - U2U me if interested.

Are you not worried of law enforcement pretending as members here?

Pretending? I'm not law enforcement, but I have little doubt that some people in law enforcement are amateur chemists. There is at least one
well-respected International Hazard who I am pretty sure is law enforcement.

Hunh?
If I were in law enforcement, I wouldn't neglect to assign my minions, responsibility for monitoring this site.
Just to keep tabs fer instance, on how close you guys are, to achieving nuclear fusion without a fission primer. You know; stuff with National
Security implications.
Also, of course, my guys would constantly be on the alert for information on the of the best coffee and donut locations.

Sulaiman, that is a very generous offer. I can't take you up on it. I'm in the states and have my own little lab. But I think you are being very
gracious...and I'm sure you are not too concerned about law enforcement. If you aren't doing anything wrong you don't have to worry. It amazes me how
paranoid some folks are, and I suspect because of that they post more than they do (wait, that's aga's rant isn't it?!) Anyway, I think you are making a generous offer and I hope someone can take you
up on it. The only thing I might suggest is that you have some sort of liability waiver to be signed.
P.S. My wife and I are sailing to Southhampton in May and I wonder if you can Thanks

I have my own lab full of chemicals and equipment. Though, I wouldn't mind a chemistry meetup sometime....

I expect most of us that post a lot have some kind of working lab,
I am thinking more of lurkers to get a bit of hands-on, or maybe their children studying at school needing some practical experience etc.
Or anyone local who just wants to have-a-go at chemistry.
I keep spare PPE for visitors already so I'm ready.
As I consider my actions are already fairly public (e.g. this forum) the main added risks are the safety of my guests,
which I believe I can manage.
Illegal syntheses such as explosives, poisons, drugs etc. I believe I can recognise and prevent.
What could possibly go wrong
No takers yet but the offer remains.

A UK meetup would be a fun idea, although I'm frightfully busy with biology lab work these days so it might be difficult for me to find time in my
schedule. The annoying thing about cells is that if you don't take care of them every day, they die.

I live not far from the junction of the M5 and M6 so fairly easy to get to
and I can offer my garden & lab as a meeting place,
it would be better to wait for good weather if at my place for chem./BBQ etc.
No commitment but answer here or via U2U if you may come to a BBQ say late May, early June, or suggest a date.
All members welcome, subject to confirmation.

I would love someday to visit the UK. If good fortune allows it in the future I would for sure want to meet with the person as well as his lab.
Respect, very gracious.
