Need help identifying these parts
I found a video recently where someone is showcasing a simple lab distillation device which I'd like to build also. But I can't identify some of the
parts by name so as to locate a source:
The video in question can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RszWo4MT27I
The parts I'm particularly interested in are:
1. The heating element apparatus.
2. The overflow or check-valve apparatus
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

The Utube poster showed the overflow device that goes to a drain. He should have pointed out the purpose of the drain feature. Without the steady
overflow purge of that drain mineral deposits would quickly build up in the boiler.
The vessel/overflow also serves to provide level control in the boiler.
It looks like a very nice system.

What kind of purity requirements do you have that cannot be met by supermarket distilled or RO water?

The single most important condition for a successful synthesis is good mixing - Nicodem

I think he said it was to control the water level in the boiling flask

That is an excellent question.

Indeed.
I just hope it's final price is better than a Quartz distillation unit. Which has my backup unit should this work out to be at/or around the same
price.
