Chloroform and Ammonia?
"One big word of warning; DON't USE CHLorofrom with amines or NH3. They combine to create posions, isonitriles (AKA isocyanides, or
carbylamines<--sp?)" Is this true? And if so can someone tell me the whole formula of the reaction and the names of the chemicals made
Anyone?

Where is this quote from? You should cite your source.
Did you search for this at all? You can still find information on it without knowing the name reaction through Google and not necessarily having to
check any transformative reaction texts
(Hofman isonitrile synthesis).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbylamine_reaction
You can see the reactions are base catalyzed.

Ammonia "will" react with chloroform to form cyanides, there are issues with the reaction though, see here http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=23&...
