milk booster neutralization
Today i was trying to nitrate some milk powder exacted from milk with vinegar.
After nitration there was a staff that it looks like ETN but in had got a more yellow color.
For neutralization i used a saturated solution of water/sodium bicarbonate, and i deep into it the nitrated staff with a filter.
When neutralization stared, from slightly yellow the staff was, it starts to turn a really deep yellow color!! At the end, the hole staff it was
disappeared and the solution turned to yellow.
When you are going to add some not nitrated milk powder into the above solution, nothing was happened, so i guess that the nitrated staff really can
be destroyed by sodium bicarbonate.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is that supposed to be?
Lactose nitrate?

WHY are you trying to nitrate milk powder? It seems like it would just produce non-energetic decomposition products (i.e. crap). Milk powder contains
large amounts of fat and protein, which I doubt would nitrate well.

If this is supposed to be lactose nitrate, it would be a good idea to try to first isolate lactose (Google that) then nitrate it according to patented
procedures quoted, if I recall correctly, by Fedoroff in the Encyclopedia of Explosives and Related Items. Finally, check if the pure thing behaves
with bicarbonate like the "milk booster".

I think he is making Caesin nitrate. The Caesin is extracted from milk with vinegar then the extracted material is dried and nitrated. It is not that
powerful though.I read up on it in one of them military manuals years ago but never attempted it myself. Seemed like too much hassle for a weak
material.

The fact that casein is a phosphoprotein probably explains the poor explosive power of its nitrated equivalent. If I remember correctly, nitrating
protein usually just causes it to decompose, but can form a nitrated product if there are large amounts of aromatic amino acids.

It is said that this stuff it is really powerful, with VoD of 7.5-8 Km/s and it can be also used as a primary explosive. The reason i made that is to
test its properties as a primary, and to see if it is can be used as a primary,

i have read about this thing in one of those how to make primaries etc etc
anyhow i have seen a video with 120g of this stuff being setoff, it sure did go bang but it was not easy to compare..
i cant find the video now tho
no wait...

its not pure, and you cant tell if it would work on its own.. guess this might be the closest you will come to a test of this milk booster stuff?

You shouldnt be wasting your HNO3 on this, make some N2O5 out of it and you can totally be on another level.

>HNO3
>make N2O5 out of it
HOW ?
yesterday i read at the Urbanski that HNO3 and H2SO4 will partially react to N2O4...but how the hell would someone make seperate N2O5 out of HNO3...

P2O5 is sold in many chemical stores.

your quote sounds like that its easy/possible to make N2O5 out of hno3

i have considered SO3 for making +70% HNO3, but its very dangerous to handle..
P2O5 isnt controlled as phosphorus is however.. 250g for below 10 pounds at british ebay isnt that bad

Hi
i searched a lot for some sources to get phosphourus-containing dehydrating agents...
and i found that phosphoric acid will obtain when P2O3 reacts with H2O...
so, is it possible to dry/dehydrate phosphoric acid (seems to be a heavy reaction, wiki said) to get P2O3 ?
cause if i have P2O3 (already cool stuff) i could easiely react it with O2 to P2O5

Use bicarbonate solution to neutralize and post your results about the power of milk booster . And there is already thready related to it

I had already used sodium bicarbonate for neutralization as you can see the description on of my first post.
Also i have seen the thread you post about that, but it has not something about that we discuss here

Take care and do in small scales.
Take some basic protection also, so we dont repeat tragedy like this one
