hplc instruments are usually set up as "reversed phase" meaning non-polar stationary phase and a polar mobile phase. This means that your separation
will be based on the molecules degree of hydrophobicity. reversed phase is a very polar environment, so will have a stronger affinity for polar
molecules (hence the term like-dissolves-like) and your non-polar will elute first following will be the polar molecules in increasing polarity.

What type of solid phase are you using? Ion exchange, reverse phase, HILIC, gel filtration, affinity, something else?

I use revese phase only. I find that there is some prediction software, but i realy dont belive it can work. In GC there is Kovach index and all is
simple, but in hplc?
