Finding other home chemists

I'm sorry if this has been covered somewhere, but I couldn't find it with any key that I could think of.

I'm setting up a home chem lab, very amateur, in my garage. I live in the San Francisco Bay area of California. I am wondering if there are any other home chemists in the area that I could meet. I'd like to visit other labs, get to know the chemists in charge, exchange information, and maybe share costs and/or access to chemicals and equipment.

Thanks....

I have met a few members from this forum in person. We're mostly so spread out that it requires great luck to find someone of similar interests near you. You might want to put your query in your signature and fill in the location field of your profile, so that anyone who sees your posts in the future will know you're looking for fellow hobbyists in the region.
