List of Anodes for making (Per)Chlorate
well im am make this list of possible anodes to get either chlorate or perchlorate
-Graphite or Carbon
-Lead Dioxide
-Platinum plated titanium
(the one i have its very good because you can also use it as a cathode without having problems unlike the niobium based one)
-Platinum clad niobium
-MMO anode (DSA)anode)
RuO2 and MnO2 coatings on titanium
-Tin Oxide (SnO2, Stannic Oxide) doped with Sb (Antimony/Tin Oxide or ATO).
-Tin Oxide doped with Bi is another, (SnO2/Bi2O3, BTO).
-Bi-doped MnO2 anode
-magnetite
-----------
ideas
-->silicon anode
from blank silicon wafer
or solar panel from a small calculator
-->hard drive platter anode has platinum and magnetite in it
-->tungsten electrode from tig welder
that has an alloy of cerium oxide or thorium oxide
(tungsten is resistant to oxidation under normal conditions)
-->tungsten carbide drill bit
-->bismuth anode
A layer of bismuth oxide from electrolysis of bismuth oxychloride or from bismuth subsaylicate then a layer of manganese dioxide from manganese
sulfate electroplating on top
-->excerpt from a video comment from youtube baked on cobalt on titanium and manganese dioxide on top of that
Some more good news! So after the second day of running my MnO2 began flaking so I sanded it off. Then baked it with Ni(NO3)2 and V2O5 ( for catalytic
activity) doped Co(NO3)2. Same design two iron cathodes and the KCl sol had .2 gr of CrO3 in it to protect the cathodes. After almost 2.5 days
I am now the proud owner of several hundred grams of KClO3. I am going to try sodium chlorate next. And once my lead dissolves I will make a PbO2
anode with eyes on perchlorate. Thanks for the inspiration!
-->lead dioxide anode
electroplating lead dioxide from a solution of lead nitrate onto copper nickel silver iron or tantalum as used one in a patent
anyone want to add to this, ideas, comments etc.

symboom - would you please stop spamming ScienceMadness with all your silly threads on chlorate/perchlorate/anodes.
You are starting to become a real PITA.
All of your ideas have been discussed at great length in other threads. Please use the site search function to find the appropriate thread to post in.
