Separation of Iron Chlorides
Hello All,
I was wondering what would be a good way to separate ferrous chloride (undesired) at a concentration of 2.9 w/w % from a solution containing 36.9 w/w
% ferric chloride. Would a magnetic separator work, given that ferrous chloride is paramagnetic and ferric isn't? Or is there a better way perhaps?
Thanks!

Iron (II) is easily oxidized to Iron (III). Perhaps add some HCl and bubble air through the solution. Chlorine gas will also oxidize it.
Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble
