This is an error on my part, sorry I haven't corrected until now, from Gmelin: upon careful heating, KN3 melts, and then decomposes at 355 C. Some
have noted decomposition started at 320 C already. Others finding at 360 C to give a steady gentle release of N2, then KN3 can be overheated by up to
over 100 C, at which point usually explosive decomposition occurs.
