Reading a book
Im reading Brave New World and in it is this chemical formula, Ch8C6H2(NO2)8 plus then the formula for hg fulminate then that eqauls a big hole in the
ground... But wtf does Ch mean?

I've never personally come across something like that with the usage of "Ch". However, one thing is jumping out at me, which is
octanitrocubane. This however, doesn't fit.
Perhaps it is a fictional explosive made up specifically for the book. That, or a research or typographical error by Huxley.

Brave New World was written in 1932. All the basics of today's technology were in place then. It seems to be a very prophetic book. Look at the
