Rouge science has been down, in the main, ever since
the Berlin wall came down and Yeltsin came to power. There may still be rouge science in Cuba, but not much. Rouge science is such a Threat to
Humanity that it's Mere Possibility was recently preempted in Honduras.

ROUGE science?? "Rouge" is finely divided Fe2O3, used as a cheap and non-toxic red paint pigment, and (similarly to alumina) for polishing metal and
glass.
I think he may mean www.roguesci.org . There is a thread about it in the Whimsy section, which I started after I observed that both it AND www.todoquimica.net (hacked by hackers in Argentina) were disabled within the same hour on 1 July, and suspected a common cause. I believe I know
the email address of one of the moderators, "Alexires" of Adelaide, South Australia, with whom I have been in private email correspondence, and I will
be asking him if he knows anything about it.
P.S. Edit: I have just heard from this moderator, and what he says is as follows. From this it appears that the web-hoster cally.asmallorange.com was
HACKED on 1 July, quite possibly by the same ones who hacked www.todoquimica.net in the same hour:
"It seems that a small orange was hacked twice and they pulled all their servers down (once about 3 weeks ago and the other time last week).
Apparently, all servers are back online now but Mega might not have gotten around to fixing the damage, if any. That is as much as the moderators know
at the moment.
It might be a case of wait out for it to come back online. There should be a reasonably up to date back up of The Forum going around (2-4 weeks old)
but I can't find it atm. I'll do a mass email when I find out about it.
Don't stress just yet. Mega might not have been able to pay the bill (new financial year about now) and the site may have been suspended. No one knows
just yet. The moderators are still free even if we don't know anything else. If we all suddenly disappear then start worrying."

So what did happen? The only things I have heard are about DMCA takedown notices. (Roguesci did have a awfully large P2P part where people linked to
rapidshare and torrents, not to mention, tmp's ftp)
But tmp's FTP is still up.
It\'s a catastrophic success.

It has been off the net before, but without any info and for more than one week?
That has not happened before on my time on the forum (from 2006). The last time we got the "suspended" was when the forum ate too much resources, but
it was corrected quickly.
And the complete silence from moderators an mega on this subject does not seem too good.
It\'s a catastrophic success.

I agree, IHME. It has now been down for 18 days, which has never happened before. As time goes on, the above reassurances of a moderator, given to me
some days ago, seem less and less plausible; he is probably as much "in the dark" as I am. I have also emailed Megalomania at an email address that I
found by a Google search, a few days ago, without response.
Some of its web-pages have been cached by Google and archive.org, but they are well out-of-date. I have found a BitTorrent download of two versions,
of 68 and 73 Mb, of the backup copy of the complete roguesci.org site as at 3 December 2008, details of which are as follows:
Roguesci.org backup copy:
Roguesci Forum Controversial Chem Lab Mirrors - 3 Dec. 2008, Torrent download:

Meanwhile, the latest news from http://www.todoquimica.net , also hacked in the same hour, is that it is still down, but that it seems to have been taken over by redirection by
another mostly Spanish-language site, joomla.org, which appears to have nothing whatsoever to do with chemical engineering or chemistry. However, they
reckon that they are "restoring the database" of "the old" Todoquimica.net; but I will believe that only when I see it!
Again, some of its web-pages have been cached by Google and archive.org, but they similarly are well out-of-date and exclude those requiring login
with name and password, such as the valuable "Ebooks y papers" and "Programas" forums and "Descargas". I have found these two other mostly Spanish-
and Portuguese-language chemical engineering forum sites, which MAY have much the same content and links as Todoquimica.net, with most of their
members being in México, Argentina, España, Brasil, Chile, and Portugal:

There is one roguesci backup from 2008 with mega's chemlab included on piratebay.
I have already downloaded it and I'm currently seeding. It is ~160mb.
I recommend downloadind it from tpb asap because who knows how long piratebay will be open for non-paying members.
It\'s a catastrophic success.

That is exactly the same as the torrent download I mentioned above.
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4550586/Roguesci_Forum_Contr...
It was uploaded by DontTreadOnMe: http://thepiratebay.org/user/x_DontTreadOnMe_x/
I also have a backup of it dated 18th January 2009, also uploaded by HinckleyForPresident, to a mediafire.com link originally. I suppose I could
reupload this to rapidshare.com, if anyone wants it.
HinckleyForPresident's website is:
http://www.dererumomnis.org/ or http://www.dererumomnis.org/bbs
Public key: http://www.dererumomnis.org/hinckleyforpresident.asc
- but it has gone down too, and its domain-name is up for sale! It is not archived on Google; and on archive.org, only two pages each from January
2007 and 2008 are archived: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.dererumomnis.org/
http://web.archive.org/web/20080115072531rn_1/www.dererumomn...
- but not their library and other pages requiring login.
The archived pages disclose HinckleyForPresident's e mail address: John_Hinckley: hinckleyforpresident@gmail.com .
Archived pages of roguesci.org disclose Megalomania's only currently working email address: megalomania@scientificmind.com
although I still have not had any reply from him regarding the fate of roguesci.org. Enkidu and Dharma are other prominent personalities on both
sites, but no email addresses can be found for them.

HFP doesn't use that email or public key any more. Here's his current (to my knowledge) email:
hinckleyforpresident@hushmail.com
I'm not sure how, but I'm pretty sure you can get public keys from hushmail. Otherwise just ask him.
Also, I was a member on DRO, and it was taken down some time ago.
A side note, Dharma wasn't a prominent member on RS. He had all of two posts, IIRC.

I have talked with a few people you name John and it appears that even the moderators are left in the dark as to what became of RS.

Rather mysterious how these forums just disappear, isn't it? Mismanagement? Infighting? Lack of funds? More sinister? No one ever seems to really
know where they went and why.

I'm posting this announcement on several sites, we're trying to get the now scattered RS members organized.
As many of you have noticed, roguesci.org has been down for some
time. Myself (Chaac) and another moderator (Mr. Science) have
decided that the time has come to take action, and to begin anew.
We have created a temporary board to organize members.
The URL is http://rstemp.1.forumer.com/
This is on a free host, and it is just being used for the sake of getting
everyone together. There will be no E&W or related chemistry
discussion on the temporary board. Once we have everyone organized,
we will be opening a new site aimed at filling the void roguesci
has left behind. However, we will also now be allowing formerly
unallowed subjects such as pharmacology. The new site will be
generally be aimed more towards chemistry than explosives
specifically. If you were a member on roguesci, or were interested
in the subjects, I would like to encourage you to join the new
board.
I will post the new forum link when it is online, which will be within a week.
