how to synthesis5--methyl-- 3-bromo-pyridine
how to synthesis 3-bromo-5-methylpyridine from 2-amino-3-bromo-5-methylpyridine?
i use 2-amino-3-bromo-5-methylpyridine as the materials. Here is my experiment:
1 mol 2-amino-3-bromo-5-methylpyridine was added to 60%H2SO4 solution , then saturated NaNo2 was addes in small portions ,temperature been
maintainted under 0 centigrade.
Then hypophosphorous acid was add, the temperature still under 0 centigrade.
afer 2 hours , i analysis by GC, fond that we only get diaoztizing salt, there is no 3-bromo-5-methylpyridine
Anyone who can tell me, how to remove the amino in the pyridine ring? Waiting for your help, thanks a lot!
Enclosed is the reaction

You detected the diazonium salt with GC?
How is a diazonium salt supposed to come trough the GC column?
