Merck Index 14th ed.

Has anybody gotten a hold of The merck index 14th edition? I've been looking for it for quite some time, but in vain, which is kind of odd considering it's been published nearly a year now.

The vast majority of the monographs in Merck Index do not change from edition to edition; most of the references are the same. I am still using 12th in hardcopy and on disk, and if this is the 14th edition I will install it on a different drive. I never bothered with the 13th, not out of superstition (hah!) but simply inertia. Never felt a bit deprived either.

Anyway, thanks, @solo!

I think that's the 12th edition cdrom. All the files are 2000 or older.

I am not a "pharmacophobiac". There is a difference between an irrational fear of drugs of all kinds, and a perfectly logical antipathy toward drugs of abuse.

There appear to be rapidshare.com links for the 13th edition on http://www.shuizong.com/post/81.html . I am having a careful look for the 14th edition, but no luck so far.

That result was "thrown up" by Google, which seems to be very slow in updating its indexing. Try searching for that web-page on www.archive.org .

Alternatively, try:
http://www.cmc888.cn/bencandy.php?fid-1-id-46-page-1.htm
http://www.tzhealth.com/health/Health/yx/yxzh/2007-07-17/3.h...
http://vagos.es/archive/index.php/t-66716-p-6.html

As they may be easier to read and search, I have previously uploaded the 11th and 12.3 editions:

Well, I have the 14th edition.

In the book, there is a CD-ROM with the electronic version. This version is produced by CambridgeSoft.

I will maybe put it on the net. It's nearly 300MB. So, I will only put it if people REALLY want (and ask for) it.

So, I'll put it next week (maybe tuesday or wednesday) on my 4shared folder.
BTW, I'll put a message on this topic when it's done.

A few remarks:
-If you want to install this version of TMI, ChemFinder 10 (or higher) must be installed on you computer. In fact, ChemFinder is the database browser. If needed, I'll put the installer on my 4shared folder.
-I can't provide a keygen (sorry, for the time being I'm overwhelmed by work). So, you will have to grab it by yourself on the net.

Well, after a little delay here it is:

http://www.4shared.com/dir/4267407/2e605ffd/sharing.html

I created a folder where I put all the files. The files are Merck140.zip and then from Merck140.Z01 to .Z06.
I created the file with WinZIP 10.

How to install:
After unpacking the files, just run the autorun program.

I'm looking for The Combined Chemical Dictionary. If anybody has an useful info, just letme know.
Thanx.

CAUTION !!

For the benefit of those who have NOT read the entire thread, this copy of Merck Index 14th does NOT come with a keygen as the owner is seeking someone who will develop a keygen if possible.

So don't go downloading half a Gb UNLESS you know how to crack this file! BE WARNED.

Merci, Sebinou! I will have a search to see if anyone has developed a crack or keygen for Merck Index 14.

I have the Combined Chemical Dictionary (CCD), which I downloaded a few years ago. The latest available edition seems to be v.6.1, of 2003. If no current uploads of it are available, I will reupload it. There appear to be current links for it on these pages:

Thank you JohnWW. I'll look at them.

Yesterday, I searched for a keygen/crack on the web but I didn't find it.
So, I'm trying to create a crack. For the time being, I found a way to use the file in a restrictive manner.
I mean: I can browse all the database but I can't use the search function.
On the other hand, the system doesn't crash :D.

I'll try to do my best but today I'm sick (influenza), so my work will not go as fast as yesterday.
I'll try to post my (I hope final) results tomorrow, on the afternoon.

Have a nice day!

They all downloaded OK for me, from the 4shared folder given by Sebinou.
However, there is still no sign anywhere of any sort of crack or keygen to enable the search program to be used on it.
On further searching, it appears that what you want, to enable word-searching of its database files, is the "Chemists' Addon" or "Chemists' Upgrade". This is mentioned in these tutorial files about the 14th edition:
http://www.adalta.it/Pages/027/TheMerckIndex14thEdition.pdf
http://www.merckbooks.com/mindex/images/Merck_Index_Tutorial...

Surely we can live without the search function. Isn't that just like having the book?

ChemFinder is part of ChemOffice.

When you download and install Merck 14, IT WILL NOT search for compound in the database because it needs ChemFinder.

ChemFinder is part of ChemOffice.

Download CambridgeSoft ChemOffice Ultra 2008 11.0

http://rapidshare.com/files/63613432/CambSoft_ChemOffice_Ult...
http://rapidshare.com/files/63622541/CambSoft_ChemOffice_Ult...

or from the original source...

http://software.cambridgesoft.com/cou110/cou110.exe

Install complete, or just the ChemFinder part.

Unfortunately, the crack did not work for me?

http://crackdb.org/index.php?c=1&l=c&p=2

Run setup.exe
When asked to license do this:

Name: lZ0
email: lz0@lz0.COM
Serial: 011-256104-7199

then press "Activate Later"

Install the product.

Import crack.reg file from crack.zip
Copy RegCodeCom11.dll from crack.zip to C:\Program Files\CambridgeSoft\ChemOffice2008\Common\DLLs

Product is now fully licensed.
Enjoy.

If you want to install multiple copies on the same lan you will need to
A: Block chemdraw from sending UDP packets onto your lan (firewall)
B: use a diffrent serial, (see below)
