I know Nukes are off subject.... but
While we're talking about "implosion of a Liquid H Core"
In the original fusion bomb "Ivy Mike" rather than using solid Li6 Deuteride (as they do now), they used liquid Deuterium which, in the secondary,
was compressed with radiation implosion and squeezed between the imploding X-rays and photons ( about the density of lead) and by an exploding
plutonium "spark plug" to heat it to fusion temperatures.
