In nanoscience what is the opposite of a capping agent??

Capping agent stabilizes the growth, it prevents the particles from aggregating and agglomerating. What is the opposite if a capping agent?? An agent that does the complete opposite of the capping agent

A flocculant would cause the particles to aggregate. Does that fit your definition?
