rocks cure acid indigestion
i was getting some acid indigestion and i had no medicine or food, so i swallowed some small rocks, presumably composed of calcium silicate, and i
gradually felt better. i began to wonder if there might be some advantage of longer lasting relief from m&m sized pieces of calcium silicate over
conventional calcium carbonate powder which provides instant relief, but does not last very long.

Nope.
At most, some calcium would leach in the gastric acid, leaving silica (and possibly some silica gel) behind. Neither is particularly useful to the
body, in addition to what's already available in the diet.

Magnesium silicate is used as a medicine, at least partly for the neutralisation of acid (and also for the laxative effect of excess Mg ions in the
gut).
It is used as a powder to achieve this effect, I don't think rocks would work, a coarse powder might give some sort of timed release.
On the other hand, perhaps your stomach just settled itself- they do.
