i once saw a design for vacuum distilation of seawater. the main flaw to me was that the evaporation and condensation occurs in one container. i am
thinking the design could be improved by having the evaporation occur in the sunlight and the condensation occur at some cooler location, such as
underground where the temperature difference could be tens of degrees cooler than in the direct sunlight.
