Sonoluminescence at home
Sonoluminescence (the production of light from sound via cavitation) came up in a recent thread; there are a few scattered references across the forum
but no practical discussion. I remembered two companion articles I'd read as a kid; one is a general explanation and review of the phenomenon, and the
other is a DIY article in the "Amateur Scientist" feature.
I wonder if this could be used to break the N2 triple bond in the presence of oxygen or hydrogen?

One way to find out i guess ...
Lots of calculations then, erm, Sing at a jam jar full of Nitrogen or similar.
