What a Book Find!
I just purchased volumes 1 through 10 of Fieser and Fieser "Reagents for Organic Synthesis" in like-new condition through Better World Books for $15!
When I saw the listing I doubted it was as described, I figured I would get Vol.1 or Vol, 10, or maybe both if I got lucky. Multi-volume listings are
often sketchy on used book sites. But sure enough all 10 volumes came. I was surprised.
They were apparently used at the DuPont Experimental Station for Agricultural Products at Wilmington, Delaware.

The lesson here is to keep checking BookFinder, BetterWorld, or any other used book sites you like for classics. You do not know what will turn up.

Careysub,
Now that you got such a wonderful deal on Vols 1 -10, you need to get the collective index for Vols 1 -12. This makes searching the F&F series
very fast, at least through Vol 12. It appears now and again on the usual used book sites.
Congratulations on your great find - you will thoroughly enjoy using it.

Don't forget about brick and mortar used book stores! I went to one of the several Half Price Books locations in Austin yesterday and bought three old
chemistry books (Lange's Handbook 10th edition 1967, The Condensed Chemical Dictionary 3rd edition 1942, and Garard's Intro to Organic Chemistry
second edition 1945). It was $25 for the lot and while their covers are all somewhat worn, they are still in great condition overall. They also had a
couple of CRC's there, the 66th and 63rd editions, but I already have a 66th edition so I didn't get either of them. There were also several older and
more worn out copies of Lange's handbook. I'm going to have to check the other locations and see what I can find. I'm hoping to snag a Merck Index...

From a closing library I obtained Chemische Berichte, years 1911 through 1997 (when it was merged into European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry).
Since I got access to the online content, it has retained little use for me....

zts, you're in a university town. I can tell you that when an older professor retires or dies, often his/her library will end up in local bookstores.
That's probably what you got.
Any other SF Bay chemists?

Wow! That's a fine segment of bookshelf! I might go to the OSU grounds half-price books, just to check for stuff like that...
