Fluoroform
According to Wikipedia you con make fluoroform by the reaction of iodoform and mercury/calcium fluoride. Can i subsitute the mercury/calcium fluoride
with Sodium fluoride can some try out the reaction i tell the result

I strongly suspect that coordination of the iodide to the mercury is part of the reason for using it, but that's just my hunch.

Just off the top of my head you can use base to make CF[sub}3- ions which could be of some use. Maybe in making trifluoroethanol with
reaction with formaldehyde? Oxidation of that to CF3COOH? would be an interesting possibility.
