Hello Everyone!
I am not sure where this goes I tried to find out if you guys have a "new member introduction" thread but it doesnt seem you guys have one.
Anywho my name is Steve, I am quickly approaching middle age and have a decent degree of chemistry knowledge. I attended a major state university for
a double major in organic chemistry and psychology. I may not be able to hold a candle to some of the knowledge the senior members of this board must
possess but I like to think I can hold my own in a chemistry battle
I wasnt able to graduate due to personal issues and have ever since done amateur chemistry at home. I have finally achieved a point in my life where I
can get serious and order real things and run real reactions. Rather then satisfying my desire to create something by making fireworks and acting like
its chemistry it kills the cravings but its not enough to achieve the desired
effect.
I can already tell I am in for a heck of a lot of reading and this website looks like it will keep me busy forever! I am also constantly in the market
for new chemicals and equipment so I cant wait to take advantage of all the resources here. Seriously this was a large piece of the puzzle I was
missing. Again I apologize if this is the wrong spot I just wanted to introduce myself and say how happy I am to find others like me!
Chemistry is a natural drive, not an interest.

Welcome aboard Steve.
I am relatively new here myself, and love the forum.
Just as you stated this site filled a niche in my new interest in chemistry. The members here (to my knowlage) have left no question(s) un-answered.
If they do not know the answer... They find it.
It's the attitude here of completion that I admire the most. I'm sure the forum will provide you what you need.
Enjoy!
They tried to have me "put to sleep" so I came back to return the favor.
Zom.

Thanks, its so exciting! I was just telling my fiancee I wish I knew about this site a few months ago I would have had her buy some of the lab
equipment people sell here for Christmas... oh well next year!

Wilcommen. Bienvenido. Welcome, and enjoy.
Don't be afraid to jump in on any topic you feel you know something about, or can Add to.
Yes, you'll probably be shot down in a flame of Knowledge at times, yet that's how Learning works.
Edit:
Beginnings is generally where noobs start pontificating.
The main rule is that if you make a claim, post references or real data to substantiate that claim, so other members can learn something too.

Welcome to SM.
I am relatively new here as well. I took several classes in college as electives (went over my required credits by approx. 40 credits!), and have
gotten back into the game after about a decade or so. Anyway, I have forgotten a lot and am learning a lot, and this place has a lot of good reading.
I suggest getting a Google account, and uploading as much to Google Drive as you can. That way, if you need something, you can use the Google Drive
search feature that OCR'd your documents at upload.
Anyway, above all, have fun!

Welcome!
I too am relatively new to the forum, and I have found it a veritable flood of information.
If you're looking for glassware, another member of the forum, Dr.Bob, is selling a heap of great glassware for discounted prices here.
"The chemists are a strange class of mortals, impelled by an almost insane impulse to seek their pleasures amid smoke and
vapor, soot and flame, poisons and poverty; yet among all these evils I seem to live so sweetly that may I die if I were to change places with the
Persian king" - Johann Joachim Becher, 1635 to 1682.

You really have to get out more often Gardul.
If I send you a dog do you think it will help?
