That reminds me: Are there any current or recent university staff who are "game enough" to post full details of their University's FTPs here, including logins and passwords, from which scientific and other ebooks and programs can be downloaded?

for solo and other memebers of board.

Access through proxy is entering the library through back door. It is a loophole of particular university. If they correct it, it is not possible to access through proxy.

As long as head is there, headache will also be there. As long as libraries are there there will be volunerable proxies will be there. We have to find out them. Check your PM for proxy through which you can access SD. Others I have not tested.

I'm a bit confused.....ezproxie vs IP proxy it seems that the IP proxies are long lasting if used judiciously and log off as soon as the needed material is acquired....whereas the ezproxie seems to have a larger public audience and they last only days.....only to search again for a ezproxie that has the journal needed.

The confusion arises not knowing if both are one of the same.....and how does one go about finding University library Ip....is it to go to the University library and get their http address and then go to whoseipisit.com to find the Ip?......some clarification would be appreciated.......solo
