The first is probably standard OTC ammonia solution, 3% I believe.

if you're trying a Birch(or a Li/Na metal reduction of an alcohol) it's not gonna work.

Drayen, why would you assume such a thing? These are aqueous conditions afterall and I would hope no one on this forum is stupid enough to think they can toss an alkali metal in an aqueous solution and have it preform that particular trick. Ammonia serves many many roles besides it's use in organic chemistry. Besides, that is not the point of the thread, no use was even implied.

In my experience I've found it difficult to find ammonia solutions stronger then 3% though I did find 10% once. In this case with your first link I would almost be willing to bet money on it being a simple 3% solution that is commonly avalible OTC, expecially since it is labeled as 'office cleaner'.

And can you (DeAdFX) or a mod fix those links so they don't make me scroll across the page to read post? Please....

And since when does amazon carry chemicals?

(my bad for making assumptions.
as assumptions are one of the faux-pas of the scientific method and science in general.)
outta intrest,
(and since i was rather un-scientific at first)
what purpose brings ye to ask for the concentration of an OTC ammonia cleaner?

Find the nearest janitorial supply place...look it up and I promise you they will carry very powerful Ammonium Hydroxide. It will also be CHEAP! I have 20% Ammonia solution at home and its nothing to mess with! Very corrosive and can knock a person cold...

play safe, play hard...get your lumps...pick yourself up and try again. It will only make you stronger.
