Conversion of *.prn to *.ps, *.pdf, *.whatever files

Does anyone know?
In windows you have this option to save a printout to disk, it ends up as *.prn.
Changing it to *.ps doesnt work, Ghostscript can't read it.

What with can I read/convert it?

Although I hava a Mac I use the print function and it gives me a menu in Lexmark printer to save as a pdf and it works well, also when I want to convert djvu to pdf....I simply ask to print the djvu document and instead of printing I use the afore mentioned function and save as a pdf and now I have a pdf version of my previous djvu .....you say why do I want to do this, because I can't cut and paste in a djvu document .............solo

What version of windows are you using? When I do the 'print to file' option I have the option to choose other formats such as pdf(I have acrobat pro) .doc, .xml, .txt...I have windows XP SP2.

EDIT: .prn...this file type does not sound like it belongs to a document file...:o:P

chemoleo, this might interest you:

http://www.allweb-soft.com/fastprint.htm

Only a trial version though; can't seem to find a crack through the usual routes.

...and this:

http://www.traction-software.co.uk/batchprint/

(too bad it's also a trial; anyone know freeware that works similarly?)

BTW, from what I've read, it depends on the printer you use as to whether the .prn file outputted by your computer is PS-readable.

What printer are you using?

I use a program called Cute PDF, it appears as one of the printers in the printer box and when you select it the computer goes through the motions of printing your document but you end up with a PDF, though I don't think that's what you wanted.

Cute PDF? Is it anything like Acrobat Distiller?

Yes, Cute pdf is a wicked program.
You can print anything to Pdfs, just anything.

Anyway, the problem is it's a work computer, so I can't really install software. The printer is screwed (HP1300), and the program doesn't allow exporting, so all I can get is a *prn file. Screenshot isn't an option cus there are many pages. Damn.

I couldn't get the software above to work eihter :(
