Taking the vacuum off.
I recently got myself a 1-liter vacuum still on E-bay. I wanted to know the proper way to return the still to atmospheric pressure. I have herd that
you need have a small bleeder valve to allow the air to enter into the system slowly, but I also heard that you could just pull the tube running to
the aspirator off. I would think the second method would re-pressurize the glass to fast causing an explosion. What methods do you guys suggest?

If the tube diameter is small, you can simply pull the tube off. Still you are in danger of cracking the glassware.
Why about bending the tube, allowing
only a small quantity of air to enter ?

or install a t-connectr, adding a tube ending in a screwclip which you can completely close the air flow in and slowly open up , slowly letting air
in when finishing the vacuum.
If you have a good vacuum source you can even use it as a course regulation of vacuum.
