"80% proof" ? The scam artist is confused I think. It's either 80 proof OR 80%. I bet it's a
freezing process to remove excess water. I have yet to encounter a yeast that will produce
more than 22% alcohol before quitting - and that's a distiller's yeast !
If the scammer claims it's the yeast, then I'm sure there will also be a claim that it's a genetically-
mutated, radiation-bombarded, super-strain of yeast that could live in a vat of pure sulphuric acid.
At least I got a few laughs out of it !

The term '80% proof' is fine, its 80% of the alcohol compaired to proof spirits.
The thing that catches my eye is that the page is dimensionally wrong. It should be a litre per batch per day, or a litre per x amount of currency.
It implies someone with a certain amount of equipment will only make the same as a man with half that amount.
Its a bad meme, a faulty idea and its skewed the way the seller is thinking about the process. Whats more this value is low, 1/4 litre of 40% vol per
day? These together bring to mind a specific process involving 2 plastic buckets, one inside the other and an immersion heater (like for a fish
tank). It'll fool anyone who thinks you have to boil something in order for it to be 'distilling'.

Marvin, that sounds like BrainFever's method for making nitric acid. If it is then 80 proof
is theoretically possible but it's distillation even without the high heat and probably illegal
despite the seller's claims to the contrary.
I hope Ramiel checks it out - he knows more about this stuff than I do.

I agree, its almost certainly illegal in most countries.
Its essentially the survival still inside out, the immersion heater and fermented mash go in the smaller inner bucket and condenses on the whole of
the outer.
Of course this is just my assumption, I'm unwilling to give him the money to find out.

Slightly off-topic, but I've noticed that yeast makes it much longer with a larger ratio of sugar to water (I use the yeast for CO2 generation
for my aquarium plants). I get longest running times with the same amount of yeast (roughly same CO2 production; if there are no other nutrients, the
yeast doesn't multiply) at about 1:2 sugar:water ratio (by weight). Adding an antibiotic pill extends the time even more, indicating that
bacterial competition exists for the yeast even in such high sugar concentration.
Edit: I'm just using regular baking yeast, woken up by soaking in warm water for a few minutes before adding to the syrup. I'm sure
brewer's yeast would do even better.
Too bad I can't figure out any way to provide an aerobic environment for the yeast so it doesn't drown in its own alcohol, while still
getting out concentrated CO2...
