Strange Liquid dispense

I just bought a glassware lot and there was a strange thing in it. A patent number was embossed on the object so I typed it in the patent registry office and found that:
http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=2 428577.WKU.&OS=PN/2428577&RS=PN/2428577 which is exactly what I have, still I don't understand how to use it, anybody can help?

Judging by the patent it may be a micro-pipette. I have an adjustable one that allows you to repeatedly measure out small amounts of liquid. I use it for putting flea killer on my cats, 0.8ml at a time (four cats), because its way cheaper to buy the stuff in dog size vials.

Can you post a picture?

Will try tomorrow.
I figured how it worked, it was just because the rubber had dried so i though it was a solid bulb, I needed to force it a bit. I think it's perforated though :(
