Metabolism of Arsenic V and III
I've been given a couple assignments at my job regarding this topic. I've read plenty of papers on the metabolism of As(OH)3 and Arsenic acid (what
you generally find in drinking water), and from what I understand, GSH (glutathione) is responsible for conversion to Dimethylarsenic. It's been shown
that diabetics and the obese have lower DMA urinary levels due to the inability to methylate iAs (low GSH levels).
My lab did a study in children (whose GSH levels are comparable to a diabetic adult), and saw the exact opposite trend (higher DMA levels compared to
total arsenic). And this is correcting for arsenosugars from seafood. Any ideas?

Did you account for the differences in VoD (volumes of distribution) with age? I may be preaching to the choir, but be aware that there is more one
way to estimate VoD in clinpharm, and they can have subtle differences in implication.
