Is the double wall to insulate the coolant from heat loss to the ambient atmosphere? I would think that wouldn't be significant enough to worry
about. Although there is such a thing as an air condenser - and that uses convective/conductive air as coolant.

The single most important condition for a successful synthesis is good mixing - Nicodem

Double-walled
The double-wall causes more heat to be dumped into the coolant before exiting the
jacket. Some high-efficiency condensers double or even triple the coils in layers to
achieve this effect. The following link shows such an arrangement and as you
can see from the prices(scroll down), a bit too expensive for the home chemist.

Time
I'm still waiting for that vacuum distillation apparatus to arrive. Unfortunately, the seller shipped
it by Parcel Post. Anyway, I'll post the pictures when the snail-mail service finally delivers it.

Vintage flasks
Through an eBay auction, I just won a lot of (10) round bottom boiling flasks. I love winning
lab glass in lots - especially at the low price I got. Anyway, these are supposed to be
50's vintage flasks. I'm only interested in the largest 4 flasks(2 each 1000 ml and 500 ml).
These flasks are Pyrex. I will be getting (4) 300 ml, (1) 200 ml, (1) 100 ml for a total of 6
flasks. The 1st member who yells gets them - NO CHARGE AND I'LL PAY TO SHIP !
