Sodium Nitrite in US

Hi folks, where can I get pure sodium nitrite (>reagent grade) in the US? I am aware that there was an incident with its deliberate misuse before, and I can’t find it anywhere now despite it’s not illegal to sell/own it in the US.

There are multiple inquiries about NaNO2 availability in the US & EU. Please see the other threads relating to ‘Nitrite’. Pro-cure bait scents nitrite is 2lbs for $15

If you can find it in stock.

Carolina Biological has reagent grade, but won’t ship it to residential addresses.

Sir_Gawain found me some a few months ago but it is out of stock now, and the "bait cure" company no longer lists it on their main site. I in the process of searching for other suppliers, I noticed that several users on two different "sanctioned suicide" forums found out about it and were sharing it as a source of for Sodium Nitrite so I suspect it is gone now too. Several aggressive law firms have gone after any company that dares sell it to people anymore. You can get it on amazon if you set up a business account; however, don't know what all they want for that i.e. tax id number, etc...

You could consider preparing it yourself from sodium nitrate. For many uses slight nitrate impurities should't be a problem.

You can also buy it on Amazon if you have a business account.

In India I can buy some sodium nitrite Er grade for around 10 dollars,
Sq grade for 8.5 dollars and the normal one (99% purity) for 3.5 dollars and one extra dollar for shipping from company to my place, I would like to ship some if it's legal in USA (I don't know the local laws in USA) but I think shipping to USA is a bit expensive. All the above mentioned prices are for 500 grams.

Water is dangerous if you don't know how to handle it, elemental fluorine (F₂) on the other hand is pretty tame if you know what you are doing.

Thank you for the info. Unfortunately I don’t have an Amazon business account. I tried to apply for one but they require legal proof of business verification.
