Anyone know what this is?
Got these from a guy that was selling some labware.
I have no clue what they are used for.
If someone could tell me it would be greatly appreciated.
the bottom metallic looking piece is made from lead and the top has a little hook.
here are the photos.

They are the dingly dangly thingamabobs that hang from a thingamajig into a partially filled whatchamacallit.
The thingamabobs and required thingamajigs were quite fragile so few remain in working condition.
Replaced by digital doodahs they are no longer in common use.

I would love to know the details of what these thingamabobs do! Very peculiar things.

Seriously? These are obviously metric doohickeys (imperial are usually yellow).

Come on folks, let's be serious. They're self-sealing stem bolts, and it sounds like you got a great deal on them!

I must say I'm quite disappointed with the childish responses here, especially from some of our more experienced members.
@BromicAcid Good guess, but I'm afraid you are wrong.
It is quite obvious to me that these are non-reversible tremie pipes, from a turbo encabulator.
It is quite unusual to see them separated from the grammeter.
Did the person from whom you bought them mention anything about differential girdlesprings?
Without those, they are useless.
