Best spray paint for inside of fume hood blower
I am replacing my fume hood blower for obvious reasons. I painted this with regular black spray paint which worked for a while but ended up being
unreliable. I am putting a new blower together and I'm wondering what would be a better type of paint, mainly for acid fumes. Amazon has this epoxy enamel which seems like it could be good, I was also considering appliance epoxy, plain enamel or spray on rubber like flex seal or
undercoating. Any ideas?

Epoxy enamel is probably the way to go. That’s what I used when I built my fume hood, and it seemed to work well, but I didn’t have much time to
abuse it before I moved, so I can’t vouch for it 100%. I’d be wary of Flex Seal turning into sticky goop.

You're probably right about flex seal, especially with nitric acid.

I just found this stuff, much cheaper than the epoxy and specifically states good chemical resistance. Seems like a good option.

This looks like some pretty good stuff. I’d certainly give it a try. I just painted some chemical storage cabinets after a rust problem due to a
small chlorine compound leak. I used appliance epoxy after sandblasting out the rust. I suppose one might be as good as the other.
