Sodium Hypochlorite "bleach" reagent OTC
I have a reaction that calls for Sodium Hypochlorite in solution.
I know that this is essentially bleach.
My issue is that I would love to buy bleach from the store here but I suspect that the brands contain some type of additive.
Same with HCL. I bought 1 gallon of HCL and realized it had some type of unidentified "dispersant". I know I could have bubbled it to make my own but
didn't want to bother.
Does anyone know a brand that can be reagent OTC Sodium Hypochlorite.

Better distill it.
Most probably, but without any information about your whereabouts you will get responses that will likely not help you.
Also, you should make your own sodium hypochlorite when you're worried about additives and not sure what you are buying is without.

Alternatively, you can buy calcium hypochlorite, which is a solid and therefore less subject to that problem

One potentially useful observation is that teh additives cost money; so the cheapest bleach is likely to be best.

Like unionised said, cheaper is gonna be closer to what you want. Another thing to look for is pool chlorinator solution, they dont have much use for
additives there.
Reflux condenser?? I barely know her!

Calcium hypochlorite with sodium sulfate results in clean sodium hypochlorite.

walmart pool essentials chlorinating liquid is cheap and doesn't contain additives.
It is also 10% on the label, I generally assume 8% and titrate it if I need a more exact figure.
