i know one person located in central europe that has about 10L MEK and can acquire much more, chemically pure
he charges 20euro per liter, and about 20 euros for shipping around in europe.
shipping to US just feels wrong to me when its flammable chemicals so im gonna leave that one out for now
message me for order

In my country methylethylketone costs 175 CZK = 7 EUR per 1 L analytical grade. Should cost less for pure grade. Should cost less when buying bigger containers than 1 L bottles.

I don't know whether they ship across Europe, but deoplosmiddelspecialist.nl and laboratoriumdiscounter.nl are good.

oploosmiddelspecialist dont ship to other countries than NL and belgium i believe, i know one guy that tried to get it sent to company in germany but i believe they noped out of it
they also sold chlorates for a long time on that site, so likely some funny laws theyre playing around with.

They still sell chlorates on that site, but only to companies (you need to provide a so-called KvK-number and you need to supply a declaration of usage). With the KvK-number they can check the nature of the company and whether the address to which the material is shipped corresponds with the address, registered at the chamber of commerce.

So, deoplosmiddelenspecialist did not play around any law.

This company is a fine company, which does not have a very large selection of chemicals, but the things they have is of good quality and they have good prices. Good for restocking larger quantities of solvents and basic chemicals (e.g. quantities at liter, kilo order of magnitude).

deoplosmiddelenspecialist once bounced an order of mine and returned my money without even informing me of either, because I didn't fill out the declaration of usage.

Chemical prices plummet the moment you can buy them by the bulk. The mere packaging for 1 liter can easily cost more than the product itself.

Commodity chemicals like solvents should be available from various suppliers without too much trouble and with decent prices. However, I must admit that getting a KvK number or business number or whatever VAT code that is in each country, helps tremendously, as B2B sales have way different legislation than B2C.

Many businesses forbid sales to privates because they usually want to buy so small amounts, and they have all kinds of rights to return the product if they change their mind, and there might also be liability issues. Professional users are presumed to be, well, professional and know their stuff and be accountable for everything, but consumers are presumed to be 100% idiots who will eat every substance or use it to feed their pets, childs or lawn unless a pile of warnings and instructions and permits are supplied.

I once bought a liter of MEK as a customer in a physical shop specialized in paint by the way. There is not really a reason why you can't buy it everywhere besides the low demand by customers.

Apparently it has some disadvantages to consumer, it smells bad, it is only partially soluble in water, and many other solvents work as well in every situation it would be needed.
