formaldehyde + MgCO3 what happens ?
in SM Wiki it says that MgCO3 is incompatible with formaldehyde and also safety data sheet for H2CO Attachment: Formaldehyde_msds.pdf (76kB) This file has been downloaded 455 times .what is the reaction ? is it self condensation and MgO act as catalyst ? or what the hell is happening? i don't have formaldehyde to even see what's
going on. can't find videos on YT either . share your thoughts and knowledge. thank you.

Yes, I would expect a self condensation in a basic milieu, even if its just MgCO3.
