Bad luck or what?

I recently purchased a 100mL volumetric pipette and a jointed glass funnel (each from different suppliers). Despite both being cushioned in bubble wrap, they arrived totally smashed. Annoying to say the least!

Bad luck

H2S, that certainly is bad luck.
It happened to me from a shipper no
more than 40 miles away. In my case,
a 1 litre filtration flask. Some people are
careless. In your case, from 2 different
suppliers ? That really is bad luck. I hope
you can get refunds or replacements.

Wow, that's incredibly bad luck. I've surprisingly never had this happen. I hope you can get your money for them back.

Nuclear physics is neat. It's a shame it's so regulated...

Now that I think about it, that's probably a good thing. Still annoying though.

I would hazard that your packages met one of those postal workers who delight in treating packages marked "FRAGILE" as extra fun to throw.

Please remember: "Filtrate" is not a verb.

I received quite a few glass apparatus from China including condensers; they were very well packaged and no damage yet. I guess it’s all down to appropriate packaging.

I recall sitting in a aircraft at Sydney Airport looking out the window, watching a baggage handler in another plane literally throwing bags out the door onto the tarmac. Would have been a good 2m drop.
I've also watched a courier tossing packages around in his van as he looked for the one being delivered to me.

I guess they're not paid enough to care.

Never had problems with glassware ordered online.
Only once with a thermocouple from Aliexpress. The 0.1mm wires were snapped and the alumina sheathing was broken and I reported it. I got a refund, ordered a new one from the same supllier and that was perfect.
