Purchasing from research suppliers
This post could belong in radiochemistry, but I believe the appeal extends beyond simple radiochemistry, so I'm posting it here.
Does anyone have experience with purchasing (anything) from any of these suppliers? In assembling my periodic table collection, I often find that
certain elements (thorium most notably) are near-impossible to purchase from normal small-scale shops. I am especially interested to hear if anyone
has experience purchasing from isotopes.gov - that might open new routes to element sample acquisition.

To be clear, the idea behind this is NOT to obtain drug precursors, special nuclear material, or other substances of ill repute. Only hard-to-find
elements and radioisotopes.

I am not familiar with them myself, but many people here have mentioned United Nuclear (https://www.unitednuclear.com/) is good for some things but way overpriced on others.
I can bet that any government agency will be a nightmare, I've worked with the US government, and even with proper paperwork and legit need, it can
take months to get anything. But they likely only wortk with institutions.
Goodfellow is good, they sell many metals, they and Johnson Matthey are good for precious metals.
Don't know the others.

The only one I know for sure will sell to individuals is Spectrum Techniques. All of their disk sources are up for sale, just send them what you want
and they will send you a quote. http://www.spectrumtechniques.com/products/sources/

Some materials offered by isotopes.gov require proper documentation to purchase (e.g. Plutonium). I also doubt that they sell to private researchers.
Of course, you can try contacting with them in order to ask about their selling policy.

I sure hope they don't sell plutonium to anyone but institutions.
