Used engine oil
What happens to used engine oil when the garage change sump oil, What is in it that shouldn't be there? Is it recycleable? I realise it "get's taken
away" but what ultimately do "they" do to it?

It gets recycled.

Of necessity, this honor is generally bestowed posthumously. - www.darwinawards.com

Not round here at least.
If they inspected the sewer near to a garage and found substantial amounts of oil they would be down on them like a ton of bricks.
Substantial fines of £+++ would follow plus costs.
