Max mercury thermometers for sale
I have some used max reading meteorological thermometers from a job lot I won. I suspect they were used in weather stations.
Sheathed thermometer -50C to 45C 12.5mm OD 320mm long marked Met 21001 BS 692 ord 2/C.
Postage will be 3 pounds (UK only) and 10 pounds for one. You can also collect from Hereford, 25 available. U2U me if interested.
Sorry I have put the price up as they are max reading.

It seems that type 1C is normal, type 2C is either minimum or maximum type.
Very accurate though.

Thanks for finding that. Yes that what they look like. I can not see a float I need to get my magnifier. Yes great accuracy. Only the best for the met
office. I imagine they have all been replaced by electronics now.
It must be a max as its mercury 10g wow. It would be criminal (and may be) to trash them even for 10g of mercury.
Well I can not see a float and I checked several of them and with a magnet.

After a little more googling,
I think that "ord." means ordinary ... not min. or max. so that's good.
(I suspect that 2/C means 2 divisions per oC, maybe)
I'm still away from home, but when I return, probably before Xmas,
I may contact you to see if you have any remaining for sale.
It would be nice to have a certified precision thermometer (or two)

No you were right the first time. They are max reading thermometers but they use a constriction near the bulb like medical body temperature
thermometer.
I have put the price up. I will keep one for you , free. Thanks for your help.
