What is "Bromel" ?
In the Mick-Jagger "Performance"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-xwMOBtBo4 , at 0:59, a person holds a bottle with the imprint "Bromel" : What is it ? (Just curious ...)

AFAIK, it's a solution containing enzymes for treating wounds.
It cleans wounds of dead tissue, and enhances the healing process.

The name seems to imply that one of the enzymes in there is the protease from pineapple, bromelain.

Coincidentally i stumbled across the answer to this today in the CRC, bromel is vernacular/trade name for tribromo acealdehyde.
Personally i thought my last post was very witty, but as no one complimented me on it, i had to do it myself.

Tribromoacetaldehyde is "bromal" not bromel, as trichloroacetaldehyde is chloral. . . As to the wittiness of your previous comment, it is certainly
halfway there(wink)!

Bromel is an enzyme solution for treatment of wounds and abrasions, as stated upthread. . . and sparkgap's intuition is correct; bromel
contains the enzyme bromelain, oddly enough. . .
In the film, James Fox poured it over his injured head from a screw-top metal can!
