Can you see me now
A video camera built into a prosthetic eye has been possible
for some years now and was once not so long ago merely
science fiction. I did not however expect it would become
ordinarily available quite this soon. One wonders at the
consquences for personal rights when for example one would
be obligated to have their eyeball inspected and then left on
a tray as prerequisite for admission to a courtroom.

Web cams on patrol cars has resulted in successful prosecutions and firings for police abuses all over the US but especially in the south. What
result from this latest permutation? Make the cops forfeit an eye to public oversight? Recruit one-eyed undercover cops? While all kinds of
fantasies are available they're probably all non-starters. The biggest problem she faces is that there will be no market for these beyond her
immediate quest.

At first glance, I thought the article was about developing an artificial eye with all the functions of a real eye, but that, I think, would involve
highly complex surgery.
Perhaps I'm missing part of the picture. . .
On a side-note, it's easy to see why engineers are tripping over themselves to come to Ms. Vlach's aid.

Politicians have no need for head up or eyeball up displays as they can always just use their hands for displaying info that they will have trouble
recalling
