It would seem a German sample would be labeled " Natrium". Maybe it was obtained in Germany and labeled in English? Just curious.

@ DrP; it solid metal you can see close to the bottom of the vial where it`s solid, that foil looking surface is about 1/4 test tube dia thick.
@ Nerro; yes it`s Feb 1913 
@ iamthewaffler: ebay but Very expensive (worth it though).
@ Mr.Wizard; I have no idea, the picture that you see is exactly as it is.

the label doesn`t say February 1913 as I thought, it Does say Germany 1913.
and just above the paper label saying Sodium on the vial "Na" is etched into the glass, you can Just about make this out in the second picture in this
thread.
either way, it`s see out 2 World Wars intact!

YT, what a fantastic collectors item you have over there. That is the kind of things which is really beautiful. Also very beautiful to know that this
metal is almost 100 years old and still so shiny. It at least proves that ampouling in glass (provided it is done properly) is a great way of keeping
very sensitive chemicals in good condition.
The shipping also is amazingly fast. I know that seller from other auctions (I also have quite a few things from this guy) and sometimes he is REALLY
slow (> 2 months before something is shipped, after sending multiple not always so kind mails). You're a lucky guy

in fact I had no idea it was the same guy that took the best part of 6 months to deliver my potassium carbonate under his old account name.
when you told me I half expected it to BE 100 years old when I received it!
