Hi All,
What's your ideas on a cheaper hydrogenator other than the ones you buy?

JCE (Journal of Chemical Education) had a peper on the construction of a containment for a Parr or equivalent pyrex pressure bottle.
Agitation was provided by a standard mechanical stirrer and ptfe spinbar.
Strong steel plates top and bottom are connected by threaded rods and retained by nuts to provide the closure pressure for the standard Parr green
neoprene perforated stopper.
Standard Parr hardware is used for H2 inlet etc.
I was going to scale this up for a 2L setup. But as I already have a Parr 3911 shaker type hygrogenator, and along came a high pressure 1 L stirrer
and heated Parr autoclave, I ended up dropping this project.
The unit descibed in the JCE article is a 250ml or 500 ml one. The actual working capacity is 67% of the nominal capacity.
