Is scented bleach going to mess up haloform reaction?

I bought some bleach so I could make some cloroform. I chilled it in the freezer and just added the first portion of acetone to it and just realized it is scented. Do you think it is still possible to continue the process and end up with good clean cloroform? I plan to distill the cloroform after and clean/dry it as much as possible. I'm hoping the scent won't interfair with the reaction and maybe I will just have cloroform with some sent in it that I can remove?

Short answer, no. But it might be difficult to remove from your product. So it depends on what the scent is and how much of a bother it will be if it remains dissolved in your product.

I accidentally used lemon-scented bleach in a synth of hydrazine. THere were not any problems.

Generally, I think that added surfactants and added colours are more problematic than added scents.
