Inorganic reactions with oxone(monoperoxysulfate)

symboom - 8-10-2016 at 03:24

So far ive tested oxone with sodium chloride confirmed it produces hydrogen chloride or chlorine im not sure

Same with adding it to sodium hypochlorite this im sure it formed chlorine or chlorine oxide

I could not get it to react with a nitrate salt to form nitric acid
Im not sure if boiling it will form nitric acid I did add a copper coin to see what it would do

Copper sulfate with oxone no reaction except maybe decomposition of the oxone

Havnt tried reacting with other metals yet

Oxone will oxidize chloride to chlorine, see: https://www.thevespiary.org/rhodium/Rhodium/Vespiary/talk/fi...
