Tin corrugated roofing - % of tin and other metals present??

RogueRose - 21-6-2016 at 20:37

I was wondering if anyone knows what the metal content is of the old corrugated tin roofing, such as what percent is tin and what else may be in it?

I browsed around a bit and found several references like
" Tin used in roofing is actually tin plated iron "
http://www.oldhouseweb.com/how-to-advice/tin-roofs.shtml

" The roofing material is actually rolled steel, but it's coated with tin "
http://www.askthebuilder.com/tin-roof/

and much of it is actually galvanised, not tin anyway...., but is still called "tin sheet"

Galvanized sheet metal has been used in place of amalgam for reductive aminations

Though there are decorative ceiling panels, which actually MIGHT be Tin. Victorian stuff, I don't see it around much anymore.

Ah, I checked online. Most modern tiles, are probably only Tin plated.

Chemrox...... Galvanized used like Amalgam? Tell us more, lots more. This I have not heard before!
