microwave synthesis -- mixing the reactants

soma - 29-11-2015 at 02:58

In several papers on microwave synthesis they say they mixed the reactants thoroughly before microwaving.

The reaction I want to try would use imidazole (and n-acetyl cysteine and urea). I'm wondering how thoroughly they need to be mixed. I don't want imidazole dust to be released.

Would grinding with mortar and pestle be sufficient?

Anyone experienced with microwave synth?
