Supplier Legitimacy

cryomancer - 19-3-2015 at 17:27

I was wondering about how legitimate these suppliers are because their deals or lack of restrictions worries me that it could be a scam or the feds are watching.
They are as follows:

Antec Chemicals
Pyro Chem Source. im a little surprised at the fact that you can obtain Potassium Perchlorate so cheaply and without apparent restrictions. Also look at the Potassium Nitrate, one pound for 3 dollars. it seems too good to be true
United Nuclear. These guys i just want to know is anybody has used them in the past, basically are they a good supplier to use or go for somebody else

So if anyone has info on them that would be great or even other suppliers that dont cost an arm and a leg would be great.

PyroChem Source and United Nuclear are both legit.

Antec is a place I plan to order from at some point. Its weird. Their site is Kyantec.

Great Thanks
That will be very helpful trying to acquire the reagents you need in a lab but society does not want you to have.

I second the above-- I have seen multiple people order from those two and in fact, United Nuclear was even raided in the past due to some of their pyrotechnics material sales.

Legitimate suppliers, but will limit sales of flash powder ingredients (Aluminum, magnesium, magnalium alloy, Titanium) to small quantities per year for unlicensed people.

Any pyro supplier NOT doing so won't be around too long in USA.

That's because they are out of Louisville, KY.

I've talked to them before on the phone.

Does Antec ship residential, do you know? I was looking at them for some photography-related stuff but wound up going with Artcraft instead because I know they're good hobbyist suppliers.

Another place is smokechemicals.com. They have a decent variety of pyro-related and a whole lot of other assorted chemicals as well. The thing is, it's not the guy's main business so he often takes a very, very long time to ship, on the order of 1-2 months (usually throws in extras to make up for it though).

I used to live in KY. They have a will call desk so I would pick my order up.
