Are there some catalyst for this reaction?

MgSO3 + S = MgS2O3.

This process takes several hours at boiling temperature and continuous agitation. There are some catalyst that can accelerate it.

Personally I would have travelled the Magnesium chloride and sodium thiosulphate route, if you have either already.

After several tests I could not separate the MgS2O3. I continue work in both ways.
